CRONA HIRES TOP POLITICAL AND PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIALIST TO COMBAT HOSPITAL SPIN MACHINE!

June 25, 2010

CRONA has enlisted one of the top political and public affairs specialists on the Peninsula in our campaign to get the hospitals to come back to the table and bargain in good faith.

Ed McGovern and his company, McGovern & Associates Consulting, are fresh off a campaign season that earned victories in some of the highest-profile political races in the Bay Area.    Ed McGovern was the lead campaign manager who secured a victory on the 49er Stadium measure intheCityofSantaClaraonJune8. Edalsoransixotherlocalracesandwasvictoriousinall. Locally, Ed has successfully managed several high-profile local campaigns on a wide range of issues of great importance to the Stanford and Palo Alto communities. He and his firm specialize in political and corporate affairs and public relations with a particular emphasis on San Mateo and Santa Clara counties.

Ed McGovern has over 25 years of government relations, issue development, campaign management, and consulting experience. He has assisted with numerous successful political, corporate, and community relations campaigns, which have included statewide, state legislative, county, city, and initiative campaigns. His company has the capability and the experience to effectively convey the message that these negotiations can only be successfully concluded at the bargaining table. Ed's extensive network of contacts in media, business, government, and community circles ensures that CRONA's message will reach the right audience and have the desired impact.

CRONA has already started working with Ed McGovern to build on all of our months of work and determination to get the hospitals to come back to the table, talk with us, and bargain in good faith. With his help, our message will ring loud and clear - to our members, to the communities we serve, to our elected representatives, to the movers and shakers on the Peninsula, and, we hope, to the hospitals.
